Privacy Policy
This policy describes Pray’s current data practices. Prayer, chat, and community content can contain sensitive religious, health, family, or emotional information. Share only what you are comfortable having processed as described below.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Pray mobile app, its widgets, website pages, and related services (“Pray” or the “Service”). Pray is intended only for adults age 18 or older and is not directed to children.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, user ID, username, locale, timezone, and account status.
- Faith and app content: onboarding answers, prayer text and drafts, chat prompts and responses, saved prayers, notes, Bible preferences and annotations, study topics and progress, daily completion and streak information, reminder settings, and support communications.
- Community content: public prayer requests, author label, reactions, reports, blocks, hides, moderation records, and related timestamps. Public posts are visible to other users and may be copied or shared by them.
- Voice input: audio and speech transcripts when you deliberately start voice input. Pray uses them to transcribe or process the prayer you request. You can type instead.
- Purchases: product ID, store platform, entitlement status, purchase token or receipt-verification data, transaction status, and purchase-support information. Apple or Google processes payment credentials.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information such as device type, operating system, app version, platform, locale, timezone, network status, permissions state, diagnostics, crash or error details, and service logs.
- Usage and analytics events such as screens viewed, feature interactions, app lifecycle events, subscription interactions, ad requests and impressions, and randomly or account-linked identifiers. Pray does not send free-text prompts to PostHog as screen parameters.
- Advertising information such as advertising identifiers, consent choices, ad interactions, and information processed by Google Mobile Ads for ad delivery, frequency, fraud prevention, measurement, and—where you permit it—personalized advertising.
Some Bible content, drafts, authentication tokens, preferences, streak state, downloads, reminders, and widget settings are stored locally on your device using app storage, SQLite, secure storage, or device notification systems.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, and synchronize Scripture, prayer, Bible chat, study, calm, reminders, widgets, purchases, and community features.
- Authenticate accounts, recover access, verify purchases, restore Lifetime Premium, and delete accounts.
- Generate AI-assisted responses and prayers, provide Scripture references, moderate content, handle reports, and enforce community rules.
- Operate offline and cached experiences, maintain streaks, preserve drafts, and recover from network failures.
- Analyze product use, show and measure ads to eligible free users, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse and fraud, secure the Service, and comply with law and platform rules.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, and legal requests.
4. AI-assisted features
Prompts, chat messages, prayer text, study topics, relevant Scripture context, and safety signals may be sent to AI service providers, including OpenAI where configured, to generate or moderate content. Do not include information you do not want processed by these systems. AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable and are not professional or emergency advice.
5. How information is disclosed
Pray does not sell personal information for money and does not use private prayer or chat text to choose third-party ads. Information may be disclosed to:
- Service and infrastructure providers, including hosting, API, database, security, and storage providers such as Supabase.
- AI and moderation providers, including OpenAI where configured.
- Analytics providers, including PostHog, which receives selected app, device, usage, locale, timezone, and account-ID data when analytics is enabled.
- Advertising providers, including Google Mobile Ads. Its SDK may process device identifiers and app activity and combine them with third-party data for advertising or measurement. This may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “tracking” under some laws. Pray requests applicable consent and platform tracking permission and provides privacy choices where required.
- Platform providers, including Apple and Google for sign-in, speech services, app distribution, purchases, refunds, and store operations.
- Other users, when you choose public community visibility.
- Authorities or transaction parties, when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a legitimate business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
6. International processing
Pray and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, Pray relies on lawful transfer mechanisms and provider contractual protections.
7. Retention and deletion
Pray retains information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide and secure the Service, maintain purchases, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and support legitimate business operations. Retention depends on the data’s purpose, sensitivity, legal requirements, and operational need rather than one universal period.
You can permanently delete your account in Extras → Settings → Delete account, or request deletion through the support page. Account deletion removes associated server-side account data and user-generated content unless limited records must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or transaction obligations. Device-local data can remain until you clear app data or uninstall Pray. Backups and logs may persist for a limited period before routine deletion.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update preferences, choose private or public prayer visibility, report or block community users, turn notifications and device permissions off, decline or change applicable advertising consent, restore purchases, sign out, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to processing. Email vunguyen.dev.0306@gmail.com. Pray may verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Security
Pray uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted transport, secure token storage, authentication, access controls, and moderation controls. No system is completely secure. Protect your credentials and avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in prayer, chat, or public community content.
10. Adults only
Pray is for users age 18 and older. Pray does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used Pray or submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
11. Changes
Pray may update this policy as the Service or law changes. The updated policy will be posted here with a revised effective date, and additional notice will be provided when required.
