Privacy Policy
Remote AC is provided by Vu Tran Nguyen (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the iOS app handles information when you use it to connect with compatible air conditioners, manage schedules and reminders, and view local weather information.
1. Information handled by the app
On-device app data. Remote AC stores preferences, device profiles and identifiers, device and room names you provide, connection status, schedules, timers, filter-maintenance records, and notification settings on your device. The app does not require an account.
Local-network and Apple Home information. If you choose to connect compatible equipment, the app may access your local network and Apple Home data necessary to identify and communicate with supported air conditioners. This can include local addresses or identifiers, device capabilities, reachability, and command responses. The app does not read your Wi-Fi password.
Location and weather. If you grant location permission, the app uses your device location to display weather information relevant to your area. Location access is optional; denying it may limit weather features. Remote AC does not use location for advertising or tracking.
Notifications. If enabled, the app uses Apple notification services to deliver schedule, timer, and filter-maintenance reminders.
What this version does not include. The app does not include user accounts, in-app purchases or subscriptions, advertising, or analytics SDKs.
2. How information is used
We use the information described above to provide app functionality you request: connecting and controlling compatible equipment, remembering settings and schedules, presenting local weather, and delivering notifications you enable. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
3. Sharing and third parties
Remote AC relies on Apple platform services for app distribution, permissions, Apple Home access, device backups you control, and notifications. Compatible air-conditioner manufacturers and weather services may process information when their equipment or services are used; their own terms and privacy policies apply to their processing. We do not operate an account service or analytics service for this app.
We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law or a valid legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, and security of users or others.
4. Your choices
- Manage Location, Local Network, Apple Home, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- Remove saved devices, schedules, and maintenance records in the app, where available.
- Delete the app to remove its locally stored data, subject to iOS behavior and any device backups you manage.

5. Retention and security
On-device app data remains on your device until you remove it in the app or delete the app, subject to device backups you control. We use reasonable safeguards for the app, but no device, network, or transmission system is completely secure. Please keep your device, Apple Account, local network, and connected equipment secure.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date when required.
