Privacy Policy
AC Remote Universal is provided by Professional AI Laboratory (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the Android app handles information when you use it to control air conditioners over infrared or an optional network bridge.
In short: the app has no accounts and collects no personal identifiers. Your air-conditioner profiles, rooms, and presets stay on your device. The app collects anonymous usage analytics that you can switch off in the app, and it shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob.
1. Information stored on your device
The following is kept locally and is never transmitted to us:
- Air-conditioner brand and infrared protocol selection, room names you enter, presets, and the last state of each remote.
- App preferences, including your usage-analytics choice and your onboarding progress.
- If you set up the optional network bridge, the bridge address and access token you enter. These are held in Android encrypted secure storage and are sent only to the bridge address you chose.
Android cloud backup is disabled for this app, so the operating system does not copy this data off the device. Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
2. Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand which parts of the app are used and where setup fails. Analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Usage analytics. The choice is saved on your device and applied on every launch.
The events recorded are:
- Screen views, such as the remote, setup, settings, and FAQ screens.
- Onboarding started and completed.
- Air-conditioner setup started, completed, or failed, including whether infrared or a bridge was used and a general failure category such as “timeout,” “network,” or “device.”
- Whether a remote command succeeded or failed.
- Advertising events, such as an ad being requested, loaded, shown, dismissed, or failing.
These events contain no free text, no room names, no bridge address, and no bridge token. No user ID is assigned. Firebase Analytics advertising-identifier collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled for analytics, and automatic screen reporting is off.

3. Advertising
The app is free and is funded by advertising served through Google AdMob. It shows banner, interstitial, and app-open ads, and an optional rewarded ad that removes ads for two hours.
The AdMob SDK accesses your device advertising identifier and may collect device and ad-interaction information in order to serve, measure, and limit the frequency of ads. This is separate from the app analytics setting: turning off usage analytics does not stop AdMob from accessing the advertising identifier.

4. Permissions and network behavior
The app requests two permissions: Internet, used to load ads, send analytics, and reach a bridge you configure; and Transmit infrared, used to send commands through your phone infrared emitter where one is present.
Outgoing connections are limited to Google advertising and analytics endpoints and, if you configure one, the bridge address you entered. Bridge connections must use HTTPS, and unencrypted traffic is blocked by the app. Infrared control itself works with no internet connection at all.
5. What the app does not collect
There are no accounts and no sign-in. The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or postal address. It does not access location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files, and it contains no crash-reporting SDK. It does not sell personal information.
6. Your choices and rights
- Turn usage analytics off in Settings → Privacy → Usage analytics.
- Manage the advertising identifier in Android Settings, as described above.
- Remove saved rooms and profiles in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Email us to exercise them.
To request deletion of analytics data associated with your device, email vunguyen.dev.0306@gmail.com with the approximate dates and country of use so the request can be located. We respond within 30 days.
7. Retention, transfers, and security
On-device data remains on your device until you remove it in the app or uninstall the app. Analytics events are retained by Google for the period configured on our Firebase project and are not linked to an identified person. Analytics and advertising data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, by Google under its own safeguards.
We use reasonable safeguards, but no device, network, or transmission system is completely secure. Keep your device, your local network, and any bridge hardware secure.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will act on it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. The revised policy will be posted here with an updated date, and material changes to what is collected will be noted in the app release notes.
