Terms of Service

AC Remote Universal
Effective: September 6, 2026
Last updated: September 6, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of AC Remote Universal (the “App”), provided by Professional AI Laboratory (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License and use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Android devices you own or control, solely for its intended purpose. The App is provided without charge and does not currently offer subscriptions or in-app purchases.

You may use the App only with air conditioners, networks, and premises that you own or are authorized to control.

2. Compatibility and safety

Infrared protocols vary by manufacturer, model, region, and firmware, and phone infrared hardware varies in strength and range. A brand appearing in the App, or a command being sent, does not guarantee a response or complete compatibility. Confirm the physical response of your equipment before relying on it, and keep your original remote available.

Do not use the App for emergency, medical, life-safety, security, or other safety-critical purposes, or where a missed, delayed, or incorrect command could cause injury, death, property damage, equipment damage, spoilage, or environmental harm. The App is not a substitute for professionally installed safety devices, alarms, ventilation, or building-management systems. It is an independent product and is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with any air-conditioner manufacturer; brand and product names belong to their owners.

3. Permissions and the optional bridge

The App requires internet access for advertising and analytics, and infrared-transmit access to use your phone emitter. You control these in Android Settings; the App does not function as a remote without one of the two supported transports.

If you use a network bridge, you choose and control it. You are responsible for its security, its configuration, and the credentials you enter. The App sends your bridge address and token only to that bridge, over HTTPS. We do not operate, inspect, or support third-party bridge hardware or software.

4. Advertising and rewards

The App is free and funded by advertising served by Google AdMob. Ads are supplied by third parties, and we do not control or endorse their content. Watching an optional rewarded ad removes ads for two hours; that period is tracked on your device and may be lost if you clear the app data or reinstall. Rewards have no cash value and are not refundable.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the App unlawfully, or to access, scan, interfere with, or control any device or network without authorization. You must not bypass technical restrictions, compromise security, reverse engineer the App except where law expressly permits it, or infringe another person’s rights.

6. Availability and liability

The App may change, be unavailable, or stop working with particular equipment or services. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, permanent compatibility, or that every feature will always be available. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss or damage, including energy costs or equipment damage, arising from your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the App or connected equipment. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Google Play and third-party content

If you obtained the App through Google Play, these Terms are between you and Professional AI Laboratory, not Google. Your use of Google Play is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service. The App includes an infrared protocol database and other open-source components supplied under their own licenses, listed in the notices bundled with the App; those licenses continue to apply to that content.

8. Privacy, changes, and contact

Please read the Privacy Policy for information about how the App handles information. We may update these Terms as the App changes; the updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date when required.
